The History Museum comprises a 38-room Oliver Mansion, known as Copshaholm and once home to the J.D. Oliver family. All furnishings in the house are original to the home, providing a remarkable glimpse of how the family lived. Two acres of lush gardens surround the mansion. The Worker’s Home is a charming cottage reflecting life in the 1930s. The History Museum’s seven galleries include both permanent and temporary exhibits, and include a gallery that focuses on Notre Dame history. The museum is the national repository of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, whose story was immortalized in the film, A League of Their Own. The History Museum is located just eight blocks west of downtown South Bend, adjacent to the Studebaker National Museum.
