The Dance House Academy provides excellent tuition in all elements of the Performing Arts to students of all ages whether they are looking for a fun pastime or a career in the industry. We became a school of excellence in 2016, after achieving a 100% pass rate with an average of 98% marks per student throughout the school. We now have nearly 120 pupils enrolled with us taking advantage of the wide range of classes taught by our dedicated team of qualified teachers. Principal Lisa Hills was trained under Ivy Baker before becoming a professional dancer at the age of 15. She worked in Europe before returning to England to attend a three-year intensive Teacher training/Dance diploma alongside a Diploma in History Of Dance which she passed with Distinction. The school has successfully run since 2007 making 2017 our 10 year Anniversary. Lisa teaches all our Ballet, tap, modern classes for younger children, seniors and adults, and continues to teach the baby ballet. Alongside, are her three qualified teachers in Musical Theatre, Drama, Singing, Freestyle and Contemporary. All teachers are First Aid Trained with enhanced DBS AND Safeguarding. Students at the school have the opportunity to perform in our bi-annual Dance Show at the Princes Theatre in Clacton which is always a lot of fun. We hold regular, optional, BTDA (British Theatre Dance Association ) ballet, tap and modern exam sessions. with our new Lyrical exams now available. We also provide choreography through private tuition classes and support to students wishing to participate in an audition for vocational schools or outside projects. Private lessons available in all genres also including singing and drama. We have had endless achievements in various Dance Productions and work with many groups in all aspects of the industry.
