The Monterey Zoo provides educational programs instructing visitors on the history, research and conservation of animals. This service is provided at a low cost for groups including school children, seniors, and special needs groups in order to ensure all citizens have access. The educational department hosts private tours of the exhibits to these groups, summer camps, daily programs, overnight programs and special events. If groups are unable to visit the zoo, the education department offers outreach programs at their location.
