In June 2009, two sister organizations came together to form one. Jewish Apartments and Services joined forces with Jewish Home and Aging Services and together became Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit (JSL). Jewish Apartments and Services was created in 1967 with the mission of providing affordable housing to Jewish adults, and for 42 years has solidly built community, while continuing to evolve as the needs of the people it services have changed. Since 1907, Jewish Home and Aging Services has been providing seniors in our community with not only a licensed Home for Aged but an impressive array of dependable outreach programs and aging services to support thousands of older adults who benefit from its outreach, education and life-enhancing programs. Jewish Senior Life offers a full complement of senior services - from independent senior living and long term care to community.
