The Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau is the destination marketing organization for Fredericksburg and Gillespie County, Texas. The Fredericksburg CVB provides information to visitors, meeting planners, groups, travel industry professionals and members of the media. A Visitor Information Center provides maps, brochures and event information about Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, the Texas Hill Country and other Texas destinations. Fredericksburg, founded by German settlers in 1846, is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Activities include museums, a historic district, a wildflower farm, vineyards and wineries, an herb farm, peach orchards, brew pub, living history farmstead, art galleries, live music, lavender farms, scenic drives, golf and more. Specific attractions include the National Museum of the Pacific War, LBJ State and National Historic Parks, the Pioneer Museum Complex, Wildseed Farms, Fredericksburg Herb Farm, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, Luckenbach, Quintessential Chocolates/Chocolat, Rockbox Theater and other unique sites. Tucked away amidst our quaint German community is one of the most bustling wine industries in the country. With over 40 vineyards and wineries in Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country we’re becoming the new hotbed for oenophiles. Like our wildflowers, award-winning wineries have taken root along Highway 290 offering wine tours, tastings and events galore. Fredericksburg has more than 100 restaurants and bakeries and more than 150 shops. In addition, the Fredericksburg area is home to more than 1,200 bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, guest ranches and inns, as well as more than 20 hotels and motels.
