About the Organization: Foundation for Economic Development (FED) is a Delhi-based not-for-profit organization with a vision to make India a developed nation. It was set-up in early 2018 by seasoned development sector professionals: Ashish Dhawan (leading philanthropist; Founder & Chairman, Central Square Foundation and Founder & Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ashoka University) and Jitendra Kalra (a former civil servant and UNIDO expert, former CEO/Reliance Foundation, former CEO/Dr. Reddy’s Foundation). Mission: - Increasing Farmers' Income - Economic Development through agricultural reforms Approach: Objective: Work on disruptive, practical and implementable ideas and innovations that have the potential to catalyze the agricultural sector in India Instruments of Change: We intend to bring about a meaningful change by helping in (a) policy design and analysis; (b) hand-holding support to governments in implementation through pilots and proof of concepts Intended Outcomes: Increase income level of small and marginal farmers by bringing efficiencies to subsides and other input support mechanisms and by helping reform the post-harvest market dynamics by deploying innovation and technology Issue-based Verticals of FED: 1.
