Mission: The mission of Forget Me Not Family Society to provide education, consultation, peer counselling and to offer support to all those who are impacted by adoption. Purpose: - To establish and operate a Post Adoption Resource Centre providing education, consultation, counseling and support to those touched by adoption: adoptees, birthparents, adoptive parents, siblings, other family members, and concerned professionals (e.g., Social Workers) - To provide community education programs on post adoption issues for any members of the community who wish to learn more about adoption and reunion issues. - To encourage and develop a recognition of the benefits of family preservation and openness in adoption practice. How We Deliver Our Mission: - Hold monthly group support sessions in Cloverdale and New Westminster Impact: - Instrumental in changing legislation to open adoption records in British Columbia - Provided understanding support to thousands of people in BC, and around the world (e.g., Australia, Israel, and USA)
