There's only 2 items on the menu, the saba mackerel set, or the recommended set which I ordered. Comes with a big portion of rice and soup, 2 braised pieces of saba, piece of fried chicken and croquette, and a small dish of pickled cabbage. It was an amazing\u200b deal for only 750 yen, and a very filling meal.
This is not a place for the faint hearted tourist. This is a local dig with no English menu (or at least I don't remember seeing any). Also its filled with local construction workers and students from nearby universities, no tourists. The mackerel (Saba-Nikomi) lunch set was exquisite though and worth the taxi ride there.
感染防止対策で土日は弁当のみ。土曜に行ったため、おすすめ弁当を購入。名物鯖味噌煮は味がよくしみて骨もホロホロに煮込まれています。コロッケやカツも旨い。普段は並びますが弁当はほぼ並ばず買えます。
骨まで食べられます。 京都を訪れるようになり、最初に教えてもらった食堂が今井さんでした。 皆さん今食べる定食と、持ち帰り用弁当と必ず1つずつ注文しています。 晩酌用にでもするのでしょうかね？いいなぁ。 小さい食堂だし、店員のお母さんは京都人らしく愛想とか気遣いとか(立って待ってる人を誘導するような)は一切ありませんが、京都でこの程度の塩対応は普通かな、と個人的に思います。 食べるなら色んなおかずが楽しめるおすすめ定食をどうぞ。 そして鯖は本当に美味しいです。真っ黒の断面に驚きますが、骨までとろけます。
名物のさば煮はとろけるけど歯ごたえがありめちゃくちゃおいしいです。 おすすめ定食チキンカツも上手い。 周りの人も次々ご飯おかわりしてました。
