Wondeful place. Roman history in full glory. Amazing museum. Amphitheatre. Open area. Kids play area. Nostalgic hotel. All amazing.

We had a beautiful time there, lots of interesting buildings beautifully restored. You really feel the history here. The food was limited due to pandemic restrictions, I wish there would've been more vegetarian options than fries.

Really quite splendid. My spouse and I took a trip to Xanten as history fans, and we were not disappointed in seeing this park! It's very spacious and perfect for a picinic, though we enjoyed the cafe and Roman dishes they served. There is a place to get and get coffee as well as a coffee shack, to satiate all dietary needs if you come unprepared as we did. Absolutely recommend this for people with kids!! There is a very fun play area. Pets are also welcome. Perfect family space; lots of benches and all you need to enjoy 2 or 6 hours here.

fascinating place to visit, might've had a better time if we'd been able to find our way there better, and even more so, to find our way back to Dortmund afterward. I'll let my photos speak for me, as much about the place left me a bit speechless, coming from North America where evidence of human habitation in ancient times is not so in-your-face as it can be in Europe.

Impressive! Take a day or afternoon and see this! The nearby town is also very worth a visit to see and eat at.
