Friendly staff, good food, Adnams on draft - what's not to love?! Check in using the NHS app and you're shown to your table. Service isn't quick but we weren't in a hurry. Pleased to be seated in the back room, only one other couple were in there, a very safe distance away. Look forward to going again

Never been here before. My friend and I hadn't booked anywhere for lunch and were turned away from our first choice, as full. We'd passed The Railway, and as there were several cars in the carpark, we decided to go back there. What a gem we'd found! At first we were told they too were full, but then a table was found for us. The restaurant was very clean and well laid out, with perspex screens between each table about 6 feet high, so very little chance of any cross contamination.There was also a card on the table to say that it had been cleaned. Disposable menus were in use which we were invited to take away with us. Individual condiments were brought to you with your meal, nothing on the table which could be contaminated. The menu was quite extensive, but we both went for the roast beef. It was one of the best roasts I've ever had. Delicious tender roast beef, and plenty of it, served with very tasty gravy, a light crisp Yorkshire pudding, generous serving of crisp fluffy roast potatoes, plus buttered new potatoes, and a side dish of 5 assorted vegetables. I looked at other meals being served and they all looked good. There's some lovely desserts on the menu too, and the usual choices of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks you'd expect in a pub. Service was good and we weren't waiting very long. Prices were average. I would highly recommend The Railway for its delicious food, and being the safest place I have encountered during this pandemic. You certainly wouldn't be afraid to take granny for Sunday lunch or any other time. Oh, and there are two large outside seating areas. But I would advise booking to avoid disappointment.
Today we visited The Railway with friends for the first time in a while, the food was excellent and good value and the safety precautions taken for the virus were also excellent with screens between all of the tables.
Great service, good portions, fantastic value. Keep up the good work.
We had a Christmas meal the foods was good but vegetarian meal was very dried and a bit cold the veggie tart should serving with gravy or sauce.
