The newly redone marina is a massive upgrade to the old building and parking lot. Now there is a first class event hall with a wrap around porch overlooking the lake, a massive paved parking lot, and new offices for the park. We had our daughter's wedding reception there and couldn't have been more pleased. Additionally a new playground bathroom and well maintained trails make this a gem in Winston-Salem's park system.

Nice place to get a scenic walk/jog. Most days other marina users are friendly and polite. Access to restrooms well appreciated.

Awesome pier!!,And beautiful clean and very family friendly and safe.. I personally do Understand why you can't walk the banks, but it seems such a waste of beautiful water and fishing opportunities... like I said me being a sportsman totally understand, and probably would do the same thing.. That's the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars.. You are so restricted on pier, and gets crowded at times.. And it really upsets me that they stock all the catfish in the lake and name it a \Catfish\gem lake. And you have to leave before dark.. It would be a catfishing power house lake if you could fish atleast a few hours after dark.. The catfish for the most part eat more at night Exspaslly the flathead.. I've talked to several different people, and that's the reason why they don't fish it.. We pay for the catfish to get stocked .. But cannot fish the best time to catch a trophy cat..
