The ferry service it self is fine and has a great view over the lake. However the staff was awful, was attempted to have payment taken without seeing the amount on the pay machine, and after that argument I opened my window on the ferry to speak to them and they started getting angry at me. They would also not provide me with a receipt even though it was printed. Shocked to receive this service for attempting to pay for a ferry.

My first time in a long long time on a ferry crossing.only took 5 minutes.
Brill! Only 1 on foot, runs every 20 mins and takes less than 10mins to cross. Staff are cheerful and friendly. We took a day trip from Windermere / Bowness to walk up the west bank of the lake. Lovely woodland and bankside walk up to Wray Castle and then beyond.
A good experience to cross the lake saving a long vehicular trip. Also a good time to have a view of the Lake Windermere at a lake level angle. The scenery at both sides of the ferry pier us magnificent.
