The garbage truck drove by today (3/30/20) without emptying the garbage bins. They only picked up garbage randomly on one side of the street. What a rip off to Loudoun County tax payers.

I'm part of my HOA board and Waste Management had our contract for trash pickup and recycling for several years. We didn't have a problem, until that is, Waste Management sold our account to Bates Trucking without warning. In fact, we didn't know the account had been sold until a regular Monday morning trash pickup was missed and Waste Management didn't tell us until we called to complain. Now it's two days later and the trash is still waiting for pickup. If Waste Management didn't want to do business with us anymore, that's fine, but they should have notified us promptly and given us time to find another provider. A quick review of the Google and Yelp reviews of Bates Trucking yielded an avalanche of complaints and one-star reviews. Had we known Waste Management wanted to sell our account to Bates, we would have gone elsewhere and not had our service interrupted. What's worse, my property management company tells me that Waste Management has apparently done this with a number of neighborhoods across Northern Virginia. Buyer beware.
Horrible service. Didn't pick up my trash for two weeks in a row. When I got fed up and called to cancel, they asked me to set out our Waste Management trash/recycle cans for pickup. I did so immediately, as they requested. The cans have been sitting at the end of our driveway for 15 days and counting. Only reason why I gave them even one star, is that they have wonderful customer service people (very nice and try to help when I called 7 times on this issue) -- too bad they are backed by such a poorly managed company.
HOA's should not have to deal with the missed pick ups and lack of communication that we receive from Waste Management. Do to their disservice, clients have no other option but to come to forums like this to issue complaints. How many of you pay for full service and only receive half of it? Do they take all of the missed pick-ups off the bill? The answer is NO. I highly suggest any clients reading this post, to look at their contract and search for your breach clause. All we want is the service that we pay for. Is that too much to ask...
They are very slow. They have plenty of men on the clock working but refuse to load after 1400. What is the point in having all that man power if you not going to use it?
Google review needs minus stars. I rate Waste Management -5. Since taking over (buying) the previous hauler. The Service is the worse I have ever seen it. They do not honor the terms of the contract and since taking over, almost a year ago, we still have not even seen our account rep, better yet, they have not shown the respect to even introduce themselves. Their only introduction was their first bill, that we had to call and dispute because they charged us too much. I am not one for reviews, but enough is enough.
I run an HOA and had a horrible 6 months with them. WM acquired the HOA contract from another company, changed schedule with minimal notice, periodically missed homes, and then sold it again with ZERO notice. Their HOA Account Management is a JOKE. The reason for the 2 stars: their customer service people are super nice. They had information about my service that no on on the HOA side bothered to reach out and share. Goodby Waste Management.
