My wife and I just discovered San Lorenzo and loved it! The pastas are amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The inside is beautiful but it’s great for take out too. The food travels well. For nicer Italian food in DC it’s one of the best options in the city. For the price it might be the best value you can find for high end homemade pasta.

Veal Cheeks-fabulous, bread-fabulous, polenta-perfection, rabbit rage-amazing, can they do anything wrong? I doubt it! This is just a great dining experience, the food is carefully thought out and delicious! The dining rooms are charming (except for he tv) and the wait staff and hosts are fantastic. Love going here, I is a real treat! Don't miss it for great Italian in the City!

We came for Valentine’s Day. It was obvious that we weren’t the first priority. The manager seemed to direct staff to attend to VIP tables. We both got the tasting menu, which included some standout dishes (pastas) and a free glass of Prosecco. We also bought a bottle of red wine. Unfortunately, it took two hours for our pasta to arrive. When the tenderloin steak came it was overcooked (probably by heat lamp). The halibut seemed bland, chewy, and under-seasoned. I’ve had some incredible meals in the past, but this was the kind of bill where you expect to be wowed. The food just wasn’t up to the standard.

service was great, food was below par. Steak was dry although we ordered medium. full course menu for 55 did not meet my expectation.
