One of the worst run access control points in all the DOD. Expect wait times of over 30mins. Those wait times could be shortened, if the sailors running the gate would move with some sort of sense of purpose.

Construction construction construction!!! Lots going on at the gate right now. It is about a 30 minute wait to get in each morning, but nice little place.

Operations Specialist \A\ School Fall and Winter 1985, I got to pick my duty station 7th out of 3 classes totaling 96 and I picked the U.S.S Talbot FFG-4 homeported at Mayport Naval Station (Jacksonville, FL). I remember the Shifting Sands Club my second home lol and we used to get rooms at the Beach Quarters Hotel and go party with tourist girls. I also got my first Tattoo from Dr Who in Portsmouth and I looked him up and he's still inking new squids lol. And I got my nickname WavyDave there because every off hour was spent trying to pump those pathetic little waves into something you could ride except for Hurricane Gloria in late September '85, now those were some awesome waves, we almost drowned a couple of times. Thanks G and Google Maps for this stroll down memory lane. :-D
