I lived in Vancouver for 40 years I was born and raised there - I’ve been interested in unity since the 80s. I started attending unity church in Vancouver sporadically through the 90s and 2000s and in the process of trying to find out more about the congregation - wanting to find community and a bit of spiritual guidance, I made an appointment with the minister-who told me that my aura was “flecked with negativity” and started speaking to me about storms passing between us and I honestly didn’t know what she was talking about ,but I definitely came to understand that she was interacting with me as though there was some kind of problem between us. I just wanted to talk about Unity and I never got the chance. It was very disheartening and upsetting , so if someone is posting a review saying they feel welcome there as a black sheep I would be interested to see how much of a black sheep they really are because I was made to feel so unwelcome. Extremely hurtful. I noticed also, the minister drives a beautiful white Cadillac-or did, I’m sure she’s upgraded. Very cult leader like. I have studied unity for so long and after this experience, I left Unity for years because of the deep hurt caused by someone who is supposed to be a spiritual leader. I still pray to forgive her. I still follow Unity teachings but it’s nearly impossible to find one that doesn’t have some kind of weird dynamic. The only Unity I’ve been in from Vancouver to Portland and Olympia that really seems to follow unity principles is the one in Portland Oregon. I don’t know why some people are so terribly fake, but the minister and structure of the church there is very genuine and authentic to Unity teachings.

I've attended other Unity churches and was excited Vancouver had one. Probably attended this one 4-5 times. I agree with another post in that I didn't feel overly welcomed by the minister. Not sure why. It's a pretty small church, slightly on the more mature side (myself included). For the most part people were very friendly. It's intimidating at times when starting a new church. The music is hit or miss just depending on how many people are singing/playing music. The ministers daughter has an amazing voice.

Very welcoming church, particularly for black sheep or people who don't know where they fit in.
