Aircraft Specialties are great people to work with. I'm impressed with their level of customer service and parts availability. Highly recommend.

Very bad experience with ordering about 20 critical engine bolts and nuts. Paid for 2 day shipping and two weeks later I have not seen one item yet despite many being in stock. Understood that a few were drop ship items from distributors. Zero communication after order completed online.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the work and customer service from Aircraft Specialties. I sent in all the part for a IO 540 K1E5. In my work request for the engine, I indicated that the engine was for an experimental aircraft. After getting my parts back, I called to inquire about why they were returned to me with white tags(“this part does not meet the airworthiness requirements of any national authority”) instead of yellow tags (standard airworthiness approval tags). I was charged the exact same amount of money (over 4000) but that ‘if it’s for an experimental, you don’t get yellow tags. All the same things are done, and the parts are held to the same standards, but you get white tags’. If I’m getting charged the same amount of money, and it goes through the exact same process, why would I not want yellow tags?! It makes the engine worth much less money. 5 phone calls later, I spoke with Harold Lehman, Quality Representative. He informed me that if I wanted yellow tags I would have to send the parts in again to go through the process all over again. He then proceeded to inform me that “maybe they weren’t held to the same standard” and that he just could not say for sure. Needless to say this doesn’t make me feel particularly good about putting my pride and joy into the air for its maiden flight. Was blown away by the lack of communication from the company, and the way that I was treated after this issue came up. I will absolutely never use this company again, and let this serve as a warning to any would be customers. Make absolutely no mention of experimental aircraft or you will not receive the same quality of inspection, and documentation.
