The Halloween attraction is a blast. Very well done. Pennhurst really knows how to maximize the creepiness of the old buildings, top of the line props, sounds, lighting, fog, and well-trained actors to provide one jump scare after another. You'll scream and then laugh at yourself for screaming all night long. It's such a great time. The overnight paranormal investigations are also well done. You'll learn some history of the property and then respectfully explore and investigate what still may be present in the buildings. Whether you visit for the Halloween attraction or paranormal investigation, it's worth every penny.

Went there for a fall date night. Had a blast. Loved the entire feel of the place. Walking through the grounds was ingenious adding to the creepy feel. A great use for an abandoned asylum. Loved all the props, genius use of strobe lights and smoke making parts of it hard to see while walking through. It felt like a mix of Freddy Kruger’s boiler room and being in the silent hill game. Loved how seamless everything was put together. Lots of jump scares, loads of creepy “patients”. I would make one suggestion- all throughout the place the had signs saying you could be touched- that didn’t really happen. There where lots of times you walk through rooms that had tables and counters and such- they should have someone under the tables reach out and touch people’s legs as they walk by. That would totally have scared the ish outta the wife. Loved that they had a little vender section on the way out. The painting guy was super talented. Check this place out!

Beautiful yet sad historic place. My most active areas were the mayflower basement/tunnel and mayflower top floor. The devon building basement room across from candyland and the long underground tunnels past the pool. It was an amazing place an I will return again

A truly incredible place. Originally constructed in 1908 as the Eastern Pennsylvania State Institution for the Feeble-Minded and Epileptic served eastern Pennsylvania area for 80 some odd years.
