Lovely place to visit, we went for a family picnic, saw the birds in the aviary and had ice cream. Played on the playground which is good for kids 4. Had to pay for toilets 20p but they were in great keep and it helps the gardens so you don’t mind paying to use them.

We finally managed to go for an evening walk and explore this little gem. Why a gem? The local council has chosen not to provide much funding to the area's parks and gardens but the Botanic Garden is reasonably well looked after by dedicated volunteers, charity groups and undoubtedly something from the council. Well worth a gentle stroll and v perhaps even a dusk time rest as the sun goes down. Watch out for the grumpy swan charging after ducks.

It is a lovely park. Its downfall is the lake wants cleaning out. The volunteers make a marvelous job of the flowers. And gardens. But the council need to put some money in. Instead of looking for big new endeavours that will never come off

Small but delightful gardens in the summer season and lovely little walks to amble round. The pond has all the wildlife you would expect and a children's play area. There's a cafe and a few plants on sale for a reasonable price. Ideal for a young family or elderly as it isn't too big to walk round.
