I took my car in for a full service and asked if he could check out a couple of niggling problems. I was given a list of problems. In particular I was told my starting problem was caused by a faulty chip on my ignition key and needed replacing (he could get it done for 100). Luckily I know someone who could replace the key for less......Guess what, It did not solve the erratic starting problem. I consequently gave both keys to my friend who works at Renault for testing......both where tested and both showed no sign of fault. Having spent 150.00 on the full service and 50.00 on a replacement key that was not needed, I have to ask did I get what I paid for? I will keep you posted as soon as my friend (a Renault mechanic) finds the time to look at the work carried out.
