Stan's Overlook Trail
N/A
No wheelchair-accessible entrance
Nice to have a view of the valley but quite a lot of it obscured by trees including Mt Si. Not saying I'd have the tops of the trees cut, just be aware that the 4 mile round trip won't give you the epic views you mount be looking for. You actuslly get better views from the parking lot view point.

Great trail! There was some snow/ice along trail, forgot our yak trax which would have helped, it was still doable though, just a little added difficulty. Very nice view. Trail had great signage.
It's really no wonder Rattlesnake is always crawling with hikers -- it's relatively easy/doable by most, and the views are insane. Trail is well-maintained, and there's plenty of parking (although even with so many parking spaces, it can be difficult to find available spots). A must-do if you're a drive-able distance from the trailhead.
Good place to catch your breath before you drop into Popping Tops
Like the other hikers mentioned, trails are poorly marked, good thing I took a picture of the sign at the beginning because I couldn’t remember what the overlook was called and ended up using my phone to get us there. There is a wide gravel path, almost road, that leads you up. You pass a tiny dirt trail entrance that says fitness trail, also says it’s closed but turns out it was not. A mile past this I realized my gps was slowly leading me away from Stans Overlook. Realized it must be the little footpath we passed. Had to hike back down the gravel road about 3/4 mile and then back up the path. The mileage is also way off. It is 2.5 miles to the overlook. If you like to know where you are, how far from your destination, especially in the evening, this matters. Someone put up white mileage markers which shows the real mileage. Then at the top there are trails that go up, left, every which way. Nothing is marked. Thankful to the person who wrote on the sign “Stans” pointing left. Trees are too tall for a view. Super disappointing since that was our only destination, was given incorrect direction that this was hurricane ridge. It is not...unless you want to hike 22 miles round trip. We have hiked to many places, many rustic areas that don’t necessarily have the means to keep up the “facilities.” By far the most disgusting bathroom I have ever used. It literally smells like something is dead in there. Go in the woods if you have to go. On a.positive note...took a gamble on an unmarked footpath which leads most of the way to the bottom. Much nicer than walking on gravel with no view at all. Also my kids enjoyed the birds landing on your hands at the top. If you’re looking for a short hike there are so many others with better views, but if you’re going the full way to the ridge, worth stopping for a break to hang out with the birds.
