Good for kids
Very diverse and interesting walk along the river, broken up by roads along the route, so you have to leave and rejoin at several points. This does make for a interesting mix, but at one point the walk is closed (due to damage that hasn't been fixed) so you can't complete all of it. Maybe one day it will be sorted out?! An interesting alternative to walking the canal tow path.

The Five Weirs Walk is now only a Three Weirs Walk due to a pathway collapse after Sanderson's Weir and Royds Mill if you're heading from Meadowhall to Sheffield town centre. Nice and easy to follow with arched signposts advertising entry points. Not very testing if you can avoid the cyclists. Looks like there are several areas of waterway which require attention.
You wouldn't think it was through the industrial east end of the city. A lovely and peaceful walk. Unfortunately 2 sections were closed which meant some lengthy detours by road just to remind us that it really is the industrial east end.
Don't usually walk it most often I cycle it, to get from town centre to Meadowhell or centretainment the first bit from town can be a bit smelly there's a tip there but the rest is pleasant see if you can find the needle.
It is a nice walk by the river. Showing the children different plants along the way only downside is crossing the roads especially with kids with you
