Worth a visit, but lots of variability in the quality of dishes. The fried fish is really excellent, the shredded bamboo dish is super different and tasty if you like bamboo. The spring rolls are in my top 5 ever -- I have no idea what made them so delicious! The papaya salad is sadly boring and the BBQ chicken is tasty but maybe nothing special. I look forward to trying some other things on the menu; I just need to keep my expectations in check.

Went to visit my childhood apt, stopped by to grab a bight with mom's for her day and this place still standing and still one of the best.

Super tasty authentic Lao food. Nam Khao and the papaya salad is on point. BBq Chicken goes well with the papaya salad and also gotta have the sticky rice !!

Very good! Had an order for pick up, it was ready very quickly (20 mins). Everything we ordered was really good. The inside looked like a really enjoyable place to dine and the staff was very nice. Will have to start going here more!

Some of the best Thai/Lao food in Seattle and reasonable prices...\ Pros: Delicious, very tasty and flavorful Thai and Lao cuisine. Prices are very reasonable and fair portion sizes. Authentic taste and does not sacrifice the flavors to try and please an American palate. Highly recommended. Cons: Cash only (no debit/credit cards accepted), limited parking, may be difficult to locate, restaurant exterior may deter those who view the outdoor looks and equate it to below average food quality. Bottom line: A hidden gem in the Mt. Baker neighborhood, Viengthong has served authentic and tasty Thai and Lao dishes for more than 20 years. It has a loyal following for those who know about it, but for the unitiated, don't let the outdoor facade fool you - the food here is excellent. Definitely an amazing restaurant both for the food and price. You will leave very satisfied and will come back for more. Recommendations: Tom Yom Goong (sour soup with seafood, lemongrass, mushrooms, and flavor), BBQ Chicken, and Pad Thai.
