Ordered two yards of washed pea gravel online. I placed the order late in the day and was contacted by a dispatcher the next day and was given a wide variety of delivery dates and times. Then got my product delivered on time in the quantity and quality promised. Best of all, the price was much cheaper than my last gravel purchase at Salmon Bay Sand and Gravel (I would have only gotten one yard for the same price at Salmon Bay). I love this place. The service here is pretty good. They let me shovel my own gravel and bark into my truck myself every week since they opened and very few places let you do that now days. I would give 5 stars for that. But 4 stars because they have filled my sub contractors trucks with 3/4 yard when we pay for a full yard and we measured it for the holes we filled, I wouldn’t complain but they wouldn’t make up for it and insisted it didn’t happen so I just let it go. Next reason for only 4 stars is the 10 visits they have claimed they don’t have 1/4- or 5/8- in stock and each time I have o show the office ladies that it is in stock after paying for alternatives. Seems like there is a communication breakdown between the drivers who load the supplies and letting the office staff know what’s actually in stock and what’s not. No big deal because in all 10-15 cases they actually had what we needed when they said they didn’t so it worked in our benefit and we love this place. Very organized compared to any other similar businesses around.
They always have what you need in terms of gravel, bark and soil from the smallest gravel 1/4 minus to pebbles and rocks the size of your hand. More importantly is the only place around Seattle that you can go dump dirt and that is a great service and I am grateful for that. They also take concrete and yard debri. Prices are fair too.
Great place for dirt and gravel. It's only 5 bucket or 20 per half yard. Great if you need a little or a lot. Super convenient since it's in Ballard. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Dirt Exchange is is great to deal with. Ordering is easy and fast as is delivery. When I wasn't happy with the veggie mix I received (too much sand), Norm was quick to return my call and fix the problem. While I won't get that product again without seeing it first, I also won't hesitate to order from them again for other things when the need arises. I really appreciate the quality customer service.
