I've had 14 back surgeries. Dr Hofsetter's technique is the best I've ever experienced. I've had two surgeries with Dr Hofsetter. I'll never go to anyone else.

I haven't actually seen the him yet, but i have waited for several months for my first appointment which was 2 days away. I got a call today from his office to cancel my appointment because he wants me to see his Nurse Practioner first. I have waited 3 months and now he calls to cancel? I already have a bad feeling and I haven't met the guy. I am thinking of going somewhere else. I am in a lot of pain right now and have been for a long time. Why didn't he call 3 months ago to schedule my first appointment with his Nurse Practioner. So angry

Dr Hofstetter did a great job on my back. I had an herniated disk and the surgery went well, I was up and walking within few days. He is very patient and answered all our questions. I would recommend him to anyone needing back surgery. Thank you Dr Hofstetter!!!

My experience with Dr. Hofstetter was a disastrous ordeal. He was arrogant and seemingly does not care about the daily pain and struggle his patients go through. I saw Dr. Hofstetter for severe left leg pain. He misread my MRI and misdiagnosed me by prescribing a pain relief injection in my lower lumbar. The injection was not effective and did not reduce my pain. When I reported the injection result to his nurse, Dr. Hofstetter was no longer interested to see me. He was pushing me away to another spine surgeon, recommending that I should have spinal fusion. While in tremendous daily leg pain, I was calling his office every day to get an appointment to see Dr. Hofstetter to better understand my options and how my pain can be reduced. His rude staff was refusing to cooperate, claiming that Dr. Hofstetter was too busy to see me. While I was insisting the need for a follow up appointment, they gave me an appointment four months down the road. Needing desperate help, I saw another spine surgeon in Seattle for my severe leg pain. He did consultation with his radiologist and informed me that I was suffering from a specific nerve root inflammation in my lower spine which was causing my leg pain. He prescribed an injection in my lower spine (specific spot), and five days after the injection I was completely free of pain and am living without pain ever since. I would not even recommend Dr. Hofstetter to my enemy!

Dr. Hofstetter, U of W Medical Center Neurology Dept. has performed two different spinal surgeries on me and I was up and back to work within a week each time. He is forward thinking and very patient and answered all our questions. I would recomment him to anyone needing back surgery.

Dr. Hofstetter and his team performed miracles on my dad who suffered with severe spine problems. Would recommend to anyone suffering with a spine condition.
