With a mix of traditional and modern harvesting techniques, this Cabane à Sucre experience is one not to miss. You will have an opportunity to tour the site in a horse drawn carriage. See the sap dripping into buckets and ,on the steeper slopes, lines feed collection barrels at the bottom near the river.

We had a lovely time there this afternoon. Hearty country food and fun atmosphere. You can roll your own maple syrup candies and take a horse-drawn wagon ride. The scenery is breathtaking! Notice the sign by the road—you can’t see the shack from the road because it is down the hill on the riverbank. We had to turnaround after driving pass it. But we were so glad we did!
Food was delicious, view is great on the river, staff is happy to help to very generous. The small farm is cool for the kids, and the installations are fine. On the downside, it gets fairly loud during supper due to the large crowd, and sometimes you wish you had more room.
We were very disappointed with our experience here. The food was mediocre at best. The sausages were ok. The eggs were premade scrambled. The ham was watery and bland. 4 whole potatoes boiled. We went early expecting a museum or some kind of educational area. We were told there was nothing but the animal farm. The animals were kept in tiny filthy enclosures. It was disgusting and heartbreaking to see how they were kept. The location was nice, with a beautiful view of the river, however they had a tractor blocking the road down to the restaurant which made it appear like it was not open. This was a subpar restaurant with high prices for what you got.
What an experience - the atmosphere and history was entertaining and the food was great. Highly recommended for a French Canadian experience. Must try the maple syrup on snow if available.
