I have shopped at this store for many years and have spent tens of thousands of dollars. After my last experience Wednesday and the absolutely terrible customer service and almost abuse of a customer I experienced, I will not be back. The employees and their training in customer service has been sliding for years. They are more interested in playing around with each other than serving customers. The hunting and firearms employees have absolutely reached a new low. They feel you are there to wait for them and you should appreciate them getting around to serving customers at all. The hunting manager I had the misfortune to speak to is the worst example of a manager I have recently seen. I think I know why the reputation of this store and department are terrible. He obviously had no interest in handling a dissatisfied customer or correcting the out of line behavior of an employee. He immediately defended the behavior because \he did not witness it\. I attempted to step off to the side away from other customers to speak to him and he, in an apparent power trip, refused to move away from other customers and said \we will talk right here\. What a poor example of a manager. He virtually accused me of not telling the truth. Very unfortunate developments as the store at one time was very customer centered and seemed to appreciate customers. It appears those days are now gone. Store management really needs to look at who they put in charge and hire. I have heard from many in the organization I work in that they try to not go to the store at all anymore. Out of stock items, rude or absent store personnel, management that doesn't care, and employees that view customers as an interruption and burden to their day when you track one down seems to be the new accepted norm. Very sad state for a previously great place to shop.

We are outdoor people and I was shopping for several items. Found them here. Trekking poles and pie irons for our next camping adventure. Love this place as two weeks prior picked up 2 air mattresses on recommendation of sales personnel bought the Intex. Used them already and they are wonderful.

Good place to buy sporting goods, they have a good selection for camping /hiking too. 4 stars because they are completely out of reloading components. I understand its not their fault , but maybe they will double up on stock when they get the chance .

Huge store with a lot of things to shop. The employees were friendly and the store was clean. If your looking for hunting or fishing this is the place in Roanoke. They also have just a lot of neet stuff, like gift stuff.

The website as well as the phone directory says this place is open until 9pm on Saturday. I get to the store at 810pm and it's closed with a sign saying it's only open until 8pm. There is either a disconnect between corporate and the store, or the manager is closing shop an hour early without permission. Either way, this is tantamount to deceptive advertising and grounds for a lawsuit. Attendant on duty also let the phone ring 21 times before finally picking up. Disgraceful.
