I visited Ripon rugby club as a referee so my experience is slightly different to what a visitors may be. That said it is a welcoming club, good bar staff and good atmosphere for watching rugby. A decent selection of beers and in a good setting. If you are in Ripon or visiting on the weekend it would be worth visiting to watch a game of Yorkshire 2 rugby and have a couple of pints. 10 minute walk from the cathedral will see you in the centre of Ripon.
