This place is very special, an active museum and lively history. The tour was very personal and informative, interesting historical references and enough material to have a good discussion! A place that should be part of historical heritage.

When the NY Times did its travel piece on Perugia this was the first place it mentioned. And this place should not be missed. A full hands education in weaving in the Middle Ages. Ancient looms still being used to produce ancient tapestries. It a long lost art struggling to stay alive. Some bus tours have discovered it but don’t let that put off. It housed in a 13th century church with a spot where St Francis actually prayed. Even if you are numb to weaving the setting will awe and inspire you. There is no hard sell. You inspect and order what you want with a small deposit.

When you are in Perugia stop by. An amazing location with a multitude of antique weaving machines. Still operational the owner and her two colleagues keep the Italian weaving tradition alive. Must see.

Must visit repurposed Church in Perugia where textiles are still hand woven using medieval techniques. A very inspiring story and visit. You'll come out inspired!

Our group came here. Would not normally have chosen this place...but now having experienced it...what an amazing story of 4 generations of artistic weavers. Glad we went. Very interesting. Staff is awesome. And what you can purchase is mind boggling. Enjoy.
