My favourite pineapple cake, with salted egg yolk inside . Tried the mochi as well. The swissroll is awesome, very rich and moist. Quite along queue.
21.08.2018: highly highly recommended on the pineapple with salty egg yolk butter pastry, it is softly baked and just melt into the mouth and not sweet at all, they have individuality packed gift set can be stored for 4 weeks or bare shelf box set that can be stored for 2 weeks only, but i can tell you that it’s so easy to eat up a whole box in less than 3 days, LOL :) P.S. new item named red bean / green bean with salty egg yolk pastry is as great as the pineapple one..
Pan’s pineapple cake is the best in Taiwan. Unique taste. Lots of people come everyday. During mid-autumn festival you need to pre-order one month before.
Beware of the pricing. Usually the more you buy the cheaper the single unit cost, but the norm in tw is unit cost x no. of pieces. Not at this shop. Avoid the 18 pieces box set, as it's the most costly. Just buy as many of the 12 pieces set as you want, it's the cheapest option. Also, those of you that are new, simply grab what's on the table, and you need to place your order with the cashier directly for their most popular pineapple cake. I've never seen so many preordered bags waiting to be picked up. Another tip, bring you own bag, else pay 3 each.
Pineapple Tart is famous among local, not the usual tourist place. Pls go early before 11am, otherwise the queue is long. Only accept cash payment. Also no loose purchase, only 15/20/30pcs pack. NTD5 per Carrier. So bring ur own bag. The taste is different from the rest. The pineapple tart pastry is softer & nicer. Pineapple is not so sour like the rest. I personally like this better.
A busy little bakery with the most delicious treats. Get there early as they quickly get sold out for some of their specialties.
