An amazing cathedral with tons of history. I have visited Oviedo several times for a group research about the Spanish Civil War (specifically the Siege of Oviedo). The tour is only a few euros and you can request for an English audio guide. It is self-guided but definitely worth the price. There are countless artifacts, images, and paintings of religious, historical, and cultural value. The cathedral is surrounded by many local bars and restaurants that make it a must-see. Across from the Cathedral is a building with bullet holes from the Siege.

Lovely example of gothic style cathedral situated in the heart of the Old Town, full of interesting little alleys and wonderful buildings, Oviedo is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a holiday, well worth a visit to the surrounding mountains as well..

Astonishing gothic cathedral with one of the most beautiful cloisters I’ve ever seen. It’s worth the 7 entry and the free audio guide is absolutely recommended.

Just see the beauty of the architecture. At different times if the day as the sunlight falls on the tower, it's beauty keeps on adding flavors. Equally beautiful it is from inside but you have to pay 7 to go inside.

I struggle with having grown up in Oviedo, and seeing that a payment is necessary to enter the Cathedral to visit it. Payment is NOT required for attendance to services, though, and I understand that when ALL big tourist attractions require payment, and maintenance and Church expenses are unavoidable, this may be the only option. The Cathedral, the Cámara Santa, and the Claustro are worth visiting.
