Yarns by design has a great selection of anything that a beginner or expert could want. Yarn types (wool, alpaca, synthetic), thickness, colors, as well as patterns and accessories. Great help is also available!! And if you are put off by the drive, it's located in a lovely part of Oakmont with other great shops and restaurants to make any travel worth the time.

Easy free 3 hour park on street. Nice yarn selection in store. Great place to find some yarn and then shop along the rest of the street.

Lovely staff, great selection of high quality yarns. When gathering is allowed, the knitting group on Tuesday and Thursday is a delight.

This is a small but very welcoming store. Sandy was extremely helpful even though I was asking for help outside of her comfort level! She admitted to liking muted colors and I was going for unusual color and textures. I ended up with a couple of beautiful yarns. The space itself was comfortable and smelled yummy. If I lived in Pittsburgh this would be my regular yarn store.
