Yours was the very first, of many events I have held to raise funds for different groups. I received an unexpected request in 1971, approx, and. I gave a fair in my pocket handkerchief of a garden, but also used neighbours' gardens for refreshments and children's entertainments. The local paper's headlines in Barrow in Furness was \you don't need a large garden\ and it was most successful, although no idea how much it raised.
