My review is a very similar story to the one below, I was 5hrs away from my home and family when I went to Project New Start and because I was sick and asked to go to the emergency room to get antibiotics for strep throat I was kicked out of their program. The director screamed at me and called me a liar, telling me I would never get clean off drugs and I only wanted to go to the hospital as an excuse to leave. I pleaded to come back that same night as I only wanted antibiotics that I knew I needed. But was refused and taken to the local Wal-Mart and left in a state and city I was unfamiliar with. They wouldn't even give me my brothers contact information when I had asked for it before they dropped me off. I had no way to reach my family and ended up on the streets of Newport for a week until I was finally able to get in contact with a friend who came and picked me up. I went to this place looking for hope, a light in the darkness only to find more evil than I ever saw in my active addiction. I will say that even though I was treated like trash by these people, I did have a spiritual awakening while being alone miles away from my family. God showed me that he was there with me and showed me that even in this horrible experience that I wasn't alone. I did get clean and have remained clean not because of project new start but because my savior Jesus Christ.

Me and my daughter got a lot of nice things cheap AND.. The guy working there was very friendly @ he prayed for me and my daughter, it was the best day ever it gave me faith in people again. It's nice to know that there's still people in this world that lives for god@ helps spread the word. I needed that and god knew it ..Thank god for for all his blessings.

Pease do not go here or help a loved one go to this place!!! They kept 500.00 after kicking my daughter out after 8 days. She had mental health issues we weren’t aware of. She had a phychotic episode, she asked to go to the hospital. They took her dropped her off without her ID or anything. They did NOT notify me her emergency contact. She was told not to come back! She was diagnosed and put on medication. (PTL). She wanted to go back to project new hope. She was refused. I live 4 hrs from Newport, they were aware of this. Now more than a month later they have not responded to letters and phone calls. I believe it’s because they can’t justify keeping the money 500.00 plus the money that was in her commissary account. It’s disturbing when supposedly Godly people do ungodly things. May God have mercy on them. My purpose for this review is not to harm project new hope but to inform. We as Christians should walk in forgiveness. It is sometimes difficult when you have been stolen from. I hope this can help someone find somewhere else to get help that will truly help!
