We went there to get their famous Lox Bagel and werent‘s disappointed. Even though we had to wait in line for quite a while, it was all worth it. The staff there is extremely friendly and welcoming. And it was fun watching them swirl around the little cafe. We were very surprised about the different kind of smoked salmon and were almost overwhelmed when it was our turn to make our order. The bagel was packed with smoked salmon and kept us full for way past lunch time! It is highly recommended and you have to try it!

Ordered Daughters' Delight and another bagel with scallion cream cheese. Both of the bagels were cold and dry, not toasted, and they’re quite small. Seems like their seafood is fresh, but nothing special - not worth 20 for one bagel. There is usually a long line to get into the store. I recommend ordering pickup thru their website, which you can pick up food from their cafe location where is a few blocks away from this spot.

My entire family is from Jersey and I always heard the stories from my parents growing about the amazing bagels in NYC. My husband and I were in SW CT and came in to Manhattan to get some authentic NYC food before heading home on our business trip. I found Russ and Daughters through a few food review sites and I Googled them. They had a great customer review so we headed there first. Because of city parking being what it is, my husband planned to drop me. We pulled up and there were a good 15 people in line, but I figured that was a good sign of quality. We definitely should have known better and called ahead. 40 minutes later it was my turn to go in. With Covid protocols, only 3 people can go in at a time. The shop looks authentic and the food was nicely displayed. The staff were nice. I got a half pound of mixed dried fruit, an everything bagel with a plain cream cheese for myself and 6 bagels to go for my parents with a side of lox cream cheese. My bagel was good and the cream cheese was very generous, but it was not as good as I imagined. I found it a little too salty and I love salt and it was disappointingly small. I have always heard about the amazing chewiness of Ny bagels and it wasn’t as chewy as I hoped. I enjoyed what I got, but it definitely wasn’t worth the wait in the cold.

Stopped in for lunch at 11am, had the tortellini it was fantastic. Fresh breadsticks were absolutely amazing. Left stuffed with enough for dinner. Check came to 30 for two which is amazing for homemade Italian lunch. Will definitely return!

We enjoyed dinner at Russ & Daughters as a guest at a business function. The atmosphere was refined, food was exceptional in presentation and flavour, and the service was attentive and professional. Any stars this restraint has are earned. Many of the flavour combinations weren’t something I’d imagined before and were new to my palate. The wine pairings were nicely assembled.
