Usually love it here but the shop and museum were closed when I visited on a Tuesday and the toasted teacake in the cafe was probably the worst I've ever had - it was as thin and dry as 2 circles of brown toast and I only tasted a maximum of 3 pieces of fruit in it. This is unusual though. I visit a couple of times a year and usually enjoy eating here and I always buy things in the shop. So I'll still be coming back, but only if I'm sure the shop will be open. There was however a super exhibition of local artists opposite which made the visit worthwhile. There were good social distancing measures in place and hand sanitizer was available. The walled garden is lovely with lots of more interesting plants as well as your typical kitchen garden stuff like herbs and vegetables, but it was raining so we only passed through quickly upon leaving. The car park is quite small but we've always found a place.

Very nice place to visit, a small museum tracing the history & development of the building over the centuries. The family history & ownership also explained. Lots of historical reference & local folklaw regarding the \Witches Of Pendle\. It also has a very nice cafe / restaurant on the premises that serves breakfast / lunch, tea & coffee. Fine home cooked food at very reasonable prices. The walled garden is at the rear & a fine example of a barn constructed in that era has been rebuilt on site after relocation from the Burnley area.
