Nothing to see anymore, except foundations and pieces of old material (glass, tin, brick, tar, etc.). The views from this site, however, are breathtaking!

If you would like to see the ghost town you will have to park down by the light and hike in the hike will be about 5 miles each way. There is construction for the lodges blocking the road now.
The drive to get there was a lot of fun.
Beautiful place historic place on the Continental Divide Trail
There is almost nothing left of this once high-altitude 'stage stop' at almost 12,000 feet above sea level. There are some signs visible if you look for them- such as some concrete foundations that were once a restaurant and hotel. The site was abandoned in the late 1920's after the Moffat Tunnel rendered the Rollins Pass Railroad a relic...but not before going into the history books for the highest altitude railroad pass in the nation. Note the abundance of rusted tin cans littering the site. One can assume that they were discards of the restaurant that once served workers and travelers crossing the treacherous pass. Of important note, this area sits on top of the Continental Divide and there is no access from mid-late fall through early summer due to the potential for many feet of snow to exist. In the summer when the roads are clear, you can access this site from the West Portal road at Winter Park or from the east at Rollinsville. Beware, the both roads are very difficult to drive and only high clearance 4x4 vehicles should attempt the 19 mile drive. Also, there is no way to cross the divide by vehicle. The way you drive up is the way you drive down (unless you are riding an ATV, which you can cross).
