Cafe was on level 2, take the flight of stairs on the right side of the shop. Delicious Japanese and matcha sweets. I ordered the sweet dumplings in matcha with soy bean powder and red bean paste (920 yen). It comes with a cup of pleasant green tea. Red bean was exceptionally delicious, not too sweet, just right especially eaten with the dumplings. A satisfying dessert that is enough to make a meal.

Green tea was good and snack was alright. Great place to chill in Kyoto.

Delicious traditional Japanese sweet dishes. The black bracken starch dumplings were excellent as were the shaved ices. I would recommend the strawberry one. The place is beautiful too and everything is very carefully made.

Among the best places in Kyoto to eat Uji Kintoki, mochi and drink tea.

We went to buy one Dorayaki, and when we paid, the man 槙島さん served us wanted to put it in a plastic bag, so I said I don’t need a bag in Japanese politely and the man just replied rude “you cannot eat here in the store”, which I didn’t said I am going to eat right away and neither I showed a sign that we will eat right away after paying. I said I know, but I don’t need a bag. He then said again “you cannot eat here”. What????? I then said it’s environment friendly not to take an extra plastic bag, (which is extremely overdone by the Japanese. They give everywhere too many plastic bags.) and the man just said “はい はい はい” in a impolite way. The Dorayaki was really good though. What a pity! ご馳走さまでした。
