Kinsale is a wonderful place and experience. Fantastic history everywhere you turn. The local people have been nurtured through living there, and this brings out character. Through historic battles, forts, and the sea. The Spaniard public house fits perfectly into the frame, being in existence for very many years. On a bend on the road, on a hillside, about 10 minutes walk on the way to Summer Cove, and Charles Fort, it is an ideal spot to take time out and savor some history. First thing you will experience on entering is the wonderful fires at either end of the bars. So welcoming in the winter cold. There are many relics of the past on the walls, including painting, maps and photographs. Models of boats and old memorabilia. The Spaniard boasts great food and drink. Many local characters are about, who will share stories from the past, and entertain you. The proprietor and staff are very friendly and anxious that you enjoy your visit.
