The people that we worked with were great. The only problem that I had was we were told that my horse was a different age than they told us. We were told that I could return the horse for another horse or keep the one that I bought. I chose to keep the horse that I bought. My horse is the sweetest funniest horse around, and by the time that I found out he was the wrong age I did not care because I had already fallen in love with him. He really is an amazing horse and I won't let this little mix up get in our way. I am so happy with my horse. Thanks!

I am coming from a place of being a beginning rider, and was in a situation with a horse that has caused some healthy fear in my mind and I am trying to work on getting that in check. The boot camp I just did was just absolutely what I needed....education, and support in my thoughts. They listened to everything I had to say and worked with me from ground up to learn basic skills that I think helped me get comfortable being around a new horse. They are patient, kind and just really know their stuff. The barn is so relaxed, so calm, and it was just an absolute pleasure to be there.

Over the past year we have had multiple interactions with Windy Hill Farm and Ted DeHass. My first was a phone call last January as I started exploring buying a new horse. They were recommended to me and I wanted to talk with them first before going to see them. He spent probably 40 minutes - talking about horse purchasing and then describing their training methods. We talked more about specific horses he had that I saw on line. Very patient no pressure. In March we visited and rode several horses, settling on a nice paint horse named Ozzy. Then in April back again for horse number 2 after 2 bad buying experiences and found Otis. Both horses were sound, easy to manage, and have been great trail partners. We went back this November and had a boot camp day that sealed the 5 star rating. We worked with Nicole the trainer and met with Ted as well to talk about issues we had run into and over the course of the day were educated on managing them. They focused strongly on softness, ground work, and communication (ie cues) from the animal. Looking forward to another refresher in the spring to enhance our horsemanship. Another plug too for the Handy Horseman videos - very interesting and educational!

Windy Hill Farm is that one of a kind experience! My husband and I decided to sign up for the boot camp and when I made the phone call I was surprised to hear Ted (the owner) actually picked up and spoke to me about everything we were looking to do and what we wanted to accomplish! I find that to be very rare these days usually if they say call you will hear a secretary or perhaps even a voice recording, but it was very refreshing to hear the actual owner pickup and care so much about his farm and who was wanting to come visit! He then put me in touch with Nicole and she is absolutely amazing!!! We had a few different phone conversations and text messages to get to know each before we even made the trip out to Ohio these people are just wonderful! Once we showed up from the time we walked into the barn to the very last day, we always felt very relaxed as the entire experience is so peaceful and calming I absolutely love how everyone there handles and trains these horses, it is top notch and five star worthy! Nicole was very patient with us both and always willing to listen to what we had to say as well. We were always made to feel priority for the short time we were there and whenever there was something new to experience we got a front row seat to watch!! Absolutely wonderful people and that part of the country is beautiful! I would visit them again in a heartbeat take the boot camp, you will love everything about Windy Hill Farm!
