A friend and I had dinner at Punch Lane. The food was amazing and not what I expected. We both started with the Oysters which were fresh and delicious. We followed with the Steak with roasted bone marrow which was sensational. The crispy beef tendon was a nice touch. The portions are very generous, we were both full. No mini cheffi dishes here, just great food, cooked to perfection and served well. Would highly recommend it if you are in the Lanes in Melbourne

An all round amazing experience. Food was delicious, presented beautifully, and served in the perfect time frame. The wine was excellent value and we were always topped up. The staff were super friendly and chill but clearly knowledgeable and professional - special shouts to Aaron who really made our night, cheers mate, we will see you again!

A very intimate and romantic space with a huge wine list and wonderful menu offerings. Service was impeccable. I will be recommending this place and coming back. Overall great experience. Couldn't fault it.

December 2020 - I had dinner here with my partner. The service was very good, warm and welcoming from the waiter. We ordered a 3 course meal with a seperate chef snack. Everything was delicious, from the cod croquettes, to my steak, to the desserts. The 'Pooley' 2018 pinot noir wine was superb but it wasn't cheap lol. We had some broad beans w burrata cheese which was fantastic. And some king ora salmon which was equally as good. My steak was perfectly cooked, and my partners cestini with cheese, smoked tomatoes and zucchini flowers was al dente. The desserts were on point, and whilst mine was the winner hahaha, they were both very excellent. Overall this was a fantastic night, and I'm definitely going back. Previous review - January 2018 My partner took me here last night for dinner. From the moment we walked in I felt at ease. What lovely attentive service, amazing food and wine... just perfect yay! Hahaha We had the 5 course degustation menu which is always a great way to sample the best a restaurant has to offer. We started w Gin cured and smoked cobia, violet citronette, lemon sherbet, violet gel. Yess lol Wallaby tartare, mountain pepper, davidson plum, macadamia puree, roasted wattle seed. Wow!! Miso marinated rockling, white onion purée, charred baby onion, sesame snow. Amazing! Gippsland Natural grass-fed beef, marinated eggplant, mint and parsley salad. Melt in your mouth experience. Lemon and Ricotta cheesecake, textures of rhubarb, toffee crisp. OMGosh yes hahaha Polenta Cake with a crumb and goats cheese infused ice cream. Divine! To finish we had goat and cow milk spanish Blue cheese and yarra valley savourine cheese. This was another highlight, that we ordered separately to the 5 course degustation. Oh and I can’t forget the bread... it was a sourdough, w a crispy crust and one of the best bread that I’ve had in a restaurant. I could have easily eaten that all night lol This place is a must visit if your in Melb’s.

The sun was shining on a beautiful evening in Melbourne as we took our seats for an early dinner at Punch Lane. Delicious food, great wine and beer and exemplary service somes up this fantastic restaurant. All shared with good friends. The set course menu allows you to select two or three courses. Opting for the quail to start, I was not disappointed. My dining companion's mozzarella looked equally delicious! Lamb was my choice for main which was a good serving, served rare (just the way I like it) accompanied by potato terrine and zucchini in batter. The barramundi and steak were also good size servings and the side dishes of chips and salad were not really needed. Expecting to be ushered out after two hours, we were pleasantly surprised when we were allowed to sit and enjoy the ambience for as long as we wanted, even though our eyes were bigger than our bellies and none of us had room for a dessert.

Celebrated my dads 70th here and words cannot describe how perfect it was. The candle on the desert was a lovely surprise and the wine pairings were just incredible.

The staff, space and food are excellent. The mark-up on the wine was savage though. 18 a glass for a wine that retails for approx. 30 is too much, even by Melbourne standards.

Nice wine bar with a great atmosphere. This was the second time I've been. This time had the chefs menu. It was nice, but probably too much on the raw/rare side in terms of meat. The trout was fantastic though....
