Love hiking biking and snowshoeing here. Links to the McHenry Dam trails. Beautiful place. Well maintained.

Very relaxing and extremely clean! I wish I would have gone in the fall but still gorgeous out there. Saw a lot of Red Crested Heron. So beautiful! The paths are plenty wide and we'll maintained! Bring binoculars!

Great trails throughout the park. Ample parking and restroom facilities near parking. Would be nice if there was some sort of urination station along the trails because it sucks getting half way through a three mile trail and needing to go. Especially when all the signs say don’t leave the trail. Otherwise enjoyable place to walk around.

First time visiting Moraine Hills State Park and was impressed by the view of the lake! The hiking trail was easy and beautiful, and we felt that it might be even nicer to bring bikes here next time. It’s a great place for a short weekend day trip from Chicago!

I was disappointed that the boardwalk was broken down. But there was lots of beautiful flowers and I saw a lot of monarchs and big blue dragonflies. I also heard some cool birds and some frogs. I saw what looked like a great white egret flying and a great blue heron was taking a nap on the water edge of lake defiance. I'll be coming back for the great landscape and possible fishing.
