All New and modern train station from Ferrovio Appulo Lucano! Tren d'Italia does not connect Matera to Bari dirrectly. But FAL does, and quite well! clean, and fast!

Taking the train from Bari to Matera for people not familiar with the changing systems is a challenge: no indication on the train that a change would have to take place at Altamura, no indication in Altamura that a connecting bus leaves outside the station, and on which side of the station (there are two buildings). So, either you are lucky and a local shows you around or you will almost inevitably miss your connection at Altamura.

Modern, new, comfortable. There isn't a place for snacks or bevareges. Only one train going through it.
