I did a fused glass workshop with Martin yesterday for the first time. It was a Christmas Decorations one day workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Martin was a very good teacher. The decorations were easy enough for a novice like myself to make especially after Martin’s excellent demonstrations and a bit of extra help. I made 13 tree decorations (4 different types). Good Covid measures were in place. I think I will be back for more in the future and I can highly recommend this workshop.

I've been attending weekly glasses with Kate, and cannot recommend it highly enough. Kate is a fantastic teacher and gave me lots of helpful tips and advice. The workshop is lovely (and feels very Covid-safe) and going to class has genuinely been the highlight of my week. I'm really pleased with what I managed to produce, and have booked to go back again next year! I've definitely found a new hobby. Thank you, Kate and Martin :-)
From the first lesson I had with Martin I knew this was a hobby I would enjoy. Since then I have returned for several terms and seen many people benefit from Martin's quiet, unobtrusive and knowledgeable support. This year (2020) has been a challenge but Martin has taken such effective measures to make the studio Covid-secure that I have no fears about continuing.
I attended a one day fused glass workshop. This was the first workshop since lockdown was lifted and Martin has gone to a great deal of trouble to ensure a safe environment for everyone to work in. This is the third one-day course of Martin's that I have attended, and, as usual, it was well-structured, moving through a variety of techniques to produce a window hanging, coasters, and finally a bowl. Martin gives clear demonstrations and is always on hand to offer support when participants are working independently. Personally, I found that already having been on courses where I had learned glass cutting techniques enabled me to be a bit more ambitious when producing my own work. However, most people doing the workshop were starting from scratch and still managed to produce interesting pieces of glassware. The big difference with this workshop is that there isn't the instant gratification of the leaded glass or foiled glass workshops. This time we are going to have to wait two weeks for our work to be fired in a kiln. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the finished articles.
A really enjoyable and rewarding class. The facilities are excellent, as is the teaching, always well explained and encouraging. I am always impressed at the high standard of work produced in the class.
