I was lucky enough to track down and purchase a guitar I've been hunting for for some time. Like most second hand guitars, it needed a decent set up and fret wear sorting. I've been following Simon at 81 guitar works on Instagram and hadn't realised he was based so near to me. Simon's a really good guy and very knowledgeable. He's done an amazing job on the frets, they're beautifully polished and a brilliantly cut and polished nut. The guitar plays amazingly now, and I've been plugged in for half the day. The difference a decent set up makes is incredible. I'll definitely take my guitars to him in the future and very happy to recommend his work.

This was my first time using 81 Guitar Works, and it was an absolute pleasure. I Needed a new bridge pick up on my Telecaster due to a fault. I left it with Simon who quickly diagnosed the issue, explained what parts were needed and gave great upgrade advice. The work was done to the highest of standards and with absolute care. The guitar plays like a dream and sounds better than ever, and Simon will now be my go-to guy for any issues/upgrades/mods in the future. Highly recommended
Handed Simon my ibanez SA with high hopes of a decent quality set-up. Certainly wasn't disappointed, he makes sure that everything is to your liking and the way you want it for your style. I feel like I've just picked up a brand new guitar! A good quality and detailed set-up is definitely not something you should miss. Couldn't recommend him enough
Just got my old ESP back from Simon, upgraded with EMG 81/85 pickups and full a set up, and it feels like a brand new guitar. Also sounds incredible. Been finding it difficult to put it down since! Highly recommended.
I handed Simon my 2003 Gibson Les Paul for a full set up and new Nut. I used to think my guitar sounded good until Si got his hands on it and my god does it sound like a Gibson again! It’s crisp and crystal clear all the way up the fret board and solos have never sounded better. I can’t recommend 81guitarworks enough and you can put full trust Into his work. He explains everything to you and only recommends what you actually need doing. A true Gent thanks again
