If you need a workout pool in the north of Madrid, the Centro Municipal Deportiva Chamartín will meet your needs. Publicly-owned and privately-run, the center has a 50 meter pool. The pool is configured by a bulkhead into 25 meter and 23 meter sections. It has wave resistant lane lines although management has increased (and thereby narrowed) the lanes so the lane lines do not match the lines on the bottom of the pool. There is a pace clock on the 25 meter side of the pool. The water line is a good foot below the pool’s edge so the water is a bit choppy. Water temperature is 79-80 degrees and water quality is good. Admission for seniors over 55 is 5 and a bit more for younger adults. (Keep your ticket. You’ll need it to get out.) The friendly guards ask that you leave your gym bag in the locker room. When I’ve been there it’s been possible to split a lane, as opposed to circle.

I used the swimming pool and sauna. It is ok and sufficient. Sauna very limited. The entire infrastructure al little bit antiquated. You need your own locker in order to lock you items in the box. The dressing-room sometimes dirty. The shower the same. It is good that the entire complex exists and you can use it, anyway.
