A very good level of clinical care on the childrens ward and after an escalation a balanced approach to supporting my wife and son collectivity through covid restrictions

Why five stars? Well the NHS service is luck of the draw, if it is not busy, it is very good. You have to be ready to wait if you are not a referral. The Five Stars are for service and care. The A&E staff were fantastic, they were calm, caring and kept us up to date every step of the way. The ward that was needed was full, so was moved to a general ward until a bed was available. The staff again were charming and match those in A&E. The hospital itself is on two floors, clean & it is a fairly modern building. There is no private entertainment supplied, but free WiFi if you need it. There is a general store for snacks, books, magazines, gifts & drinks. A small cafe & an ATM. They have a free to call Taxi service & it is about 5 to the Train Station. It is also serviced by a bus route. There are grounds to relax in if you are visiting. Macmillan have a suite here if you are dealing with cancer & lots of volunteers here do a marvellous job making a tough time easier. So yes there were long waits due to it being busy, but the care, skill and charm of the staff are second to none

Parking situation terrible, they need more spaces, parking eye set up, be careful where you park, read the signs,Hospital car parking fees were abolished in Scotland and Wales in 2008.
