Had an estimate for works to replace anodes on my new boat which was given at approx 130, when the invoice came in the invoice total was over 100.00 more than the estimate. This was due to one of the anodes being almost twice the price shown on the estimate plus additional anodes were used than those shown on the estimate. Time between the estimate and the work being completed was only 8 days. The reason given to me as to why the anode had gone up so much was a supplier price increase. I wasn't informed about the price increase of additional anodes being required prior to the works commencing, the first I knew of this was when I received the invoice!

Owned a motor yacht and employed another company to fix whatever was wrong with it. Began to get concerned that we were being fleeced. We had just spent another 3000 on a new oil cooler we were told needed replaing and the boat was returned fully tested. Except the following day one of the engines wouldn't go into gear. The other engineers started doing pressure test but earlier an engineer from Ropwalk told our broker he knew what was wrong and had the cable in his hand. We got rid of our cowboys and instructed Ropewalk. An hour and a half later, a cleaned solenoid, oil filter, and oil change (160 in total) and the boat was working perfectly.
