Overall, Liliana's is good, seems popular with local families, and the value is pretty good. We had a humorous incident on our last visit. We are white (and the only white people there that night.) I grew up in the area and moved back a number of years ago, and Liliana's is close to my home so we've been a few times. My BF ordered enchiladas mole (really good BTW) but they arrived barely warm. He sent them back to be reheated and they came back lukewarm again. He sent them back one more time and when they returned, they were warmer (not hot) and included a new side cup of..mayonnaise. I guess all white people love their mayonnaise! We still laugh about it. The tamales are quite good (I LOVE tamales) and as mentioned, the chicken enchiladas mole are very good. Unpretentious casual setting with parking in lot in front or on street. Worth a try but white people be prepared for a side of mayo

This location is not as good as the one on 1st st. They don’t add lettuce to the quesadillas and they are always stingy on sauces. They got my order wrong and I had to drive back to get new ones. It took a while for me to get back and they still didn’t have my order ready. Actually checked the contents this time and they didn’t even include sauce so I’m waiting in line to get some. Might leave since they take forever and it’s a long line. Wish I didn’t give them the 4 dollar tip if I knew they were far different from the better staff on East 1st street who actually deserve the tip. Food is good but damn. Only reason I came to this location was because the one on East 1st St was too full.
Great authentic Mexican food and drinks at dine in restaurant. Take out only right now due to covid. Went on Christmas day 12/25/20 for tamales. They opened early got there early. Line moved quickly was not too bad in the morning at 8am. They take credit cards but there will be a 4% charge or pay cash. They have eight or nine different varieties of tamales available. Once home the tamales were terrible, dry and not much flavor. This was very disappointing since I had their tamales in dine in restaurant before and thought they would be of same quality but NOT! I don't know if they made a tremendous amount for Christmas demand and froze or what but they were not at all what was expected for Liliana's. Costco has much better tamales and will go there in future for holidays instead!
I came the day before Christmas Eve so it's expected that the employees are fed up. The lines were long and the people were crabby but the tamales are delicious. A dozen tamales cost 26 I got eight red four green all of them pork but they also have chicken and veggies ones even sweet ones. All things considered I'm happy with the way they taste and I'm happy with how quickly the line moved.
Without a doubt, the tamales are really good. I don’t know if it’s because of Thanksgiving right now, but 1) the waiter’s service is below average and 2) there is a DEEP miscommunication between the cashier/waiter and the customers. 1) While I was eating, the waiter only came by if I called for him. (There was a waitress who was better.) The waiter never came by to ask me how the food was or if I wanted to order more. (By this time, I recognized that the service wasn’t good and was debating making this review. I dismissed the idea because I was like “As long as the tamales slap.” 2) While I was paying for the tamales, the cashier charged me. He said the total was “58.75”. When he came back, the receipt said “61.10”. ... There was an extra charge for using a debit/credit card that he NEVER told me about. I do not mind that there is a charge, although it is unusual considering the amount I spent at this location. What I do mind is that they not once mentioned this charge. And when I asked about the charge, the cashier said (in Spanish) “I thought you knew about it” and walked away. WHAT TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS? Yes, the tamales are good, but the customer service is bad, in my opinion. If you go, know that you will probably have to keep asking for someone to attend you and there is a 2.35 charge for using a debit/credit card that no one will tell you about. Good luck.
