I've read the previous reviews with interest and I must admit I'm gobsmacked. They're possibly old messages with a totally new team on board now as I've found the whole team from the good doctor to my ace key-worker Karen easy to relate to. They are both empathic, thoughtful and hard-working and have moved heaven and earth to accomodate me on various points of which I'm totally grateful. Considering Better Lives is free of charge and local to me in Islington, I feel a bit more understanding would not go amiss. Victoria Mangion

Sandra. Rudest receptionist ever. Wouldn’t fly in a good business. Doesn’t do her job right. First point of contact. Can’t wait till a machine takes her job. Incompetent. Shouldn’t be dealing with anyone never mind vulnerable. Disgraceful

Could be better, visited numerous times during their walk in hours and was turned away 2-3 times due to staff being unavailable, in spite of my calling beforehand noting of my arrival. On attaining a key worker, I had regular meetings set up on a fortnightly basis, of which she was late. I arranged to meet with a doctor for a diagnosis and was told they do not offer therapy, in spite of their website saying differently. On another key work session the doctor disrupts the session half way through with no clear agenda for being there. On a positive, they offer a fair amount of activities and group work and other rehabilitation techniques i believe.

Poor - used to be good when it was ISIS and then CGL. Opening times are always changing - as the other reviewer said, they don’t answer the phone and the system changes frequently for already struggling service users with no system to tell users if the changes. The new staff are always different, support through key work is patchy at best and the overall attitude (apart from a dedicated few) is uncaring, rules oriented and miles away from support and understanding. I wouldn’t recommend it if you can find an alternative.
